“Once you get older, you fall flat on your face all the time,” Mr. Murillo said. Or, “by the time you finish a race, everyone has gone home already.”
“But it doesn’t matter, because the meaning of doing it is staying with it and being consistent,” he added.
At this stage of life, running also helps him stay in the present.
“The rewards are not in the distant future,” Mr. Murillo said. “The rewards for me are here, today, at this moment.”
