But the new data add to evidence that virus-laden raw milk may be unsafe for other mammals, including humans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">\u201cDon\u2019t drink raw milk \u2014 that\u2019s the message,\u201d said Yoshihiro Kawaoka, a virologist at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, who led the study.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Most commercial milk in the United States is pasteurized. The Food and Drug Administration has found traces of the virus <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/04\/25\/health\/bird-flu-milk-fda.html\" title>in 20 percent<\/a> of dairy products sampled from grocery shelves nationwide.
