It then compared the funding appropriated for the current fiscal year with the administration\u2019s proposals for fiscal year 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">For basic science research, the association reported that the overall budget would fall to $30 billion from $45 billion, a drop of roughly 34 percent.
