But he might be ready to give up the title.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Mr. Musk, the world\u2019s richest person, said on Tuesday that he was planning to spend \u201ca lot less\u201d in future elections, the latest sign that he is fading into the background of American politics \u2014 at least for now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">\u201cIn terms of political spending, I\u2019m going to do a lot less in the future,\u201d Mr. Musk said as he appeared virtually for a combative interview with Bloomberg News at the Qatar Economic Forum. \u201cI think I\u2019ve done enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">He did keep the door open, however. Asked if his decision stemmed from any blowback he had faced for helping to guide the Trump administration, he said: \u201cIf I see a reason to do political spending in the future, I will do it.
