This can lead to inefficient movement and an increased risk of injury.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Sitting for long stretches of time is a common cause of weak hips. In that position, <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/09\/04\/well\/move\/dead-butt-syndrome-gluteal-amnesia.html\" title>your glute muscles are turned off<\/a>, your blood flow is restricted and your hip flexors become shortened and tight.
