That\u2019s because they may share underlying damage to small blood vessels in the brain, experts said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Some of the risk factors <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2024\/09\/03\/well\/mind\/brain-health-quiz-dementia-depression-stroke.html\" title>common to the three brain diseases<\/a>, including <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/advances.umw.edu.pl\/pdf\/2021\/30\/3\/349.pdf\" title rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">high blood pressure and diabetes<\/a>, appear to cause this kind of damage.
