That dynamic often opens the door to light-touch settlements.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">But the stakes rose sharply for Google on Thursday, when a federal judge ruled that the company had <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/04\/17\/technology\/google-ad-tech-antitrust-ruling.html\" title>acted to illegally to build a monopoly<\/a> in some of its online advertising technology.
