The spacecraft, named Athena, is almost identical to Odysseus, the lander that Intuitive Machines sent to the moon last year. Odysseus was the first commercially operated vehicle to successfully land on the moon, but that success came with an asterisk when the vehicle toppled shortly after reaching the ground.<\/p>\n<div class=\"css-1dv1kvn\">\n<p class=\"live-blog-post-content css-h61jh5 evys1bk0\">This time, the hope is that Athena will stay upright as it deploys payloads for NASA and commercial customers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"live-blog-post-content css-h61jh5 evys1bk0\">Here\u2019s what else you need to know about Athena\u2019s moon landing attempt:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"live-blog-post-content css-1ie9vib ez3869y0\">\n<li class=\"css-1i3ul0c eoqvrfo0\">\n<p class=\"css-1il0jfh evys1bk0\">Athena\u2019s descent toward the lunar surface will soon begin, and plans call for it to set down at 12:32 p.m. Eastern time.
