At least 164 people have been sickened with measles so far this year. That is more than half the number of cases in all of 2024, and higher than the 59 cases documented in 2023.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"css-1u37br4 eoo0vm40\" id=\"link-3cbb8137\">How \u2018normal\u2019 are measles outbreaks?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Measles was declared eliminated from the U.S. in 2000, which was considered a landmark public health achievement made possible by the vaccine.
