The aid group\u2019s oldest program, the Famine Early Warning Systems Network, ran a <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.devex.com\/news\/usaid-funded-famine-early-warning-system-goes-offline-due-to-aid-freeze-109226\" title rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">forecasting system<\/a> that allowed aid workers in places like war-torn South Sudan to prepare for <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.preventionweb.net\/news\/scientists-get-ahead-south-sudan-floods-we-need-save-peoples-livelihoods\" title rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">catastrophic floods last year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">The fate of these programs remains uncertain.
