If Republicans repeal Biden-era legislation that allocated billions of dollars in subsidies and loans for the projects, Mr. Farley said, \u201cmany of those jobs will be at risk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Mr. Farley was also sharply critical of President Trump\u2019s threat to impose tariffs on cars and components from Mexico and Canada. Ford makes several vehicles in Mexico, including the Maverick pickup and Mustang Mach-E electric S.U.V., and engines in Canada.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">\u201cA 25 percent tariff across the Mexico and Canadian border will blow a hole in the U.S. industry that we have never seen,\u201d Mr. Farley said, according to a transcript of his remarks provided by Ford. \u201cIt gives free rein to South Korean and Japanese and European companies that are bringing one and a half to two million vehicles into the U.S. that wouldn\u2019t be subject to those Mexican and Canadian tariffs.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"Dropzone-1\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"css-s99gbd StoryBodyCompanionColumn\" data-testid=\"companionColumn-1\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Mr. Farley\u2019s remarks at the conference, which was organized by Wolfe Research, offered a rare example of a corporate executive calling into question Mr. Trump\u2019s policies or statements.
