Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, has eliminated many of its diversity teams, while Amazon has been reviewing its D.E.I. programs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">On Jan. 22, Mr. Trump <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/fact-sheets\/2025\/01\/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-protects-civil-rights-and-merit-based-opportunity-by-ending-illegal-dei\/\" title rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">signed an executive order<\/a> instructing federal contractors to not engage in D.E.I., which he described as \u201cillegal discrimination.\u201d Through its cloud-computing arm, Google provides technology services to the federal government.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Google has also started a D.E.I. review that could result in the company\u2019s cutting additional programs and initiatives, Ms. Cicconi said in the email.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">The company will \u201ccarefully\u201d evaluate programs, trainings and initiatives \u201cand will update them as needed,\u201d she said.
