Streaming a high-definition video takes about <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fcc.gov\/consumers\/guides\/broadband-speed-guide\" title rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">25 million bps.<\/a> The download rate in a typical American home is about <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.speedtest.net\/global-index\/united-states#fixed\" title rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">262 million bps<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Now researchers have estimated the speed of information flow in the human brain: just 10 bps.
