It\u2019s not uncommon to hear things like: \u201cThose pills are just a placebo.\u201d \u201cYou\u2019ll definitely gain weight.\u201d \u201cOnce you start, you\u2019ll become dependent on them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Is any of this true?<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Some of these statements have \u201ca kernel of truth,\u201d said Dr. Gerard Sanacora, a professor of psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine.
