It will also be first time that astronauts launch on top of NASA\u2019s giant new <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/03\/17\/science\/nasa-space-launch-system.html\" title>Space Launch System rocket<\/a> and then swing around the moon inside a crew capsule called Orion before returning to Earth and splashing down in the Pacific Ocean.
