Schaffner, a professor of food and science at Rutgers University, said in an email that the bacteria found might cause illness, particularly for those who are immunocompromised.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"Dropzone-1\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"css-s99gbd StoryBodyCompanionColumn\" data-testid=\"companionColumn-1\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">\u201cIf customers read about this issue and they have concerns,\u201d he said, \u201cI think throwing out their toothpaste is a reasonable choice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">The bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa was recovered in multiple water samples that the company took from June 2021 to October 2022, according to the letter.
