Learning to do this during a workout can improve your body\u2019s ability to control its position as you move in everyday life, which is increasingly important as you age, said Ms. Bardos.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">To perform most dumbbell movements, your limbs have to work independently. That can help you spot if one side of your body is <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/10\/14\/well\/move\/muscle-imbalance-pain-symptoms.html\" title>weaker or less mobile than the other<\/a>.
