But to feel your best and age well, you also need to take a little time each week to exercise the body\u2019s supporting cast: connective tissues like ligaments and tendons, especially if you\u2019ve injured them in the past.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">How you do it matters. What works for ligaments doesn\u2019t work for tendons, and vice versa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">\u201cEach part responds to different stimulus,\u201d said Jay Dicharry, a professor of physical therapy at Oregon State University and the author of \u201cRunning Rewired.\u201d \u201cJust as you don\u2019t treat each of your children the same, you shouldn\u2019t treat all of your body parts the same way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Here\u2019s how to keep your tendons, ligaments and joints healthy and less likely to suffer injury.
