Mr. Mohan, who joined Google as part of its acquisition of advertising software company DoubleClick in 2008, said that the search giant faced ample competition in the ad tech market. Google expanded into various areas of ad technology in response to demands from its business customers, including publishers and advertisers, he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Google\u2019s success \u201cfalls back to one single thing: product innovation and the sale and services we were able to offer,\u201d Mr. Mohan said, in his testimony before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">The case stems from a lawsuit, filed last year by the <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/01\/24\/technology\/google-ads-lawsuit.html\" title>Justice Department and eight state<\/a>s, accusing Google of abusing control of its ad technology and violating antitrust law, in part through the acquisition of DoubleClick.
