Our recycling bin comes up a lot, too.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">During our weeklong stay in Europe, we had actual conversations. We were chattier, more relaxed versions of ourselves. Vacations are not real life, of course, but still I wondered if there was anything we could do to keep that feeling going all year long.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Researchers have spotted connections between vacations and <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC5800229\/\" title rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">lower stress<\/a>, a <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/31694400\/\" title rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">healthier heart rate<\/a> and <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/35002874\/\" title rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">increased creativity<\/a>. And there\u2019s some evidence that those benefits can linger for weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">But research also suggests that they do wear off eventually, particularly if you have a high-stress job, said Sarah Pressman, a professor of psychological science at the University of California. Was it daily naps?<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Then, she said, \u201ctry to find a mini version of that.\u201d If you loved biking on vacation, she said, start with a weekly bike ride.
