But sometimes that person is incapacitated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">If paramedics are in a house, they\u2019ll scan the fridge or the bathroom cabinet for medications and try to find identification in a wallet or a purse, DiRocco explained.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">But scrambling for these items \u201ceats up time,\u201d said Anthony Almojera, a paramedic and lieutenant for the New York Fire Department. \u201cOur role is to buy you time.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"css-s99gbd StoryBodyCompanionColumn\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Seconds count.
